Last nights quiz was well attended by expeditioners and crew. We are
unsure who won the competition in the end due to some irregularities in
scoring and a reasonably high degree of cheating by most teams (this was
encouraged of course!).
Helicopter briefings for crew and passengers were completed today,
including a walk around of the S76 helicopter we currently have onboard.
Neptune, King of the southern ocean and his enterage chose to visit us
and anoint those who have not travelled below 60 degrees south before.
The ceremony which involves a reasonable amount of regalia, raw fish and
baptism using something similar to pea and ham soup crossed with fruit
trifle, was followed by a short interruption to the hot water supply to
showers around the ship! Uncanny that this only seems to happen after
Neptune visits, no doubt an indication of his tremendous power over all
things wet and watery.
Dinner tonight will be a BBQ on the trawl deck as the icebergs slip by...
Cheers
Andy, Margaret, Kate.
