Comments

As the Aurora Australis is still making excellent progress, the last couple of days before arrival see the preparations for disembarkation ramp up. The cosy cabins, which have been our home for the last three weeks will need a clean to be ready for the next voyage. Making sure everything is ship shape relies on the good will of all. Last night’s quiz, led once again by Roger and his beautiful assistant Cassandra, was a well attended evening of entertainment. A number of challenging questions and surprise prizes left over by Santa spiced up a cheery atmosphere. The overall game was won by team ‘Braintrust’, which included Captain Murray surrounded by a diverse group of scientists. Christmas decorations are now on their way out, but some will be recycled in the bar lounge for tonight’s New Year Eve Party, which will be a spontaneous ‘dress-up as whatever you like’ event. Let’s see how daring our returning winterers will be.
REGARDS: Fred and Kerry
