Comments

Our continuing smooth seas have ensured the perfect conditions for back to back briefings in preparation of the upcoming resupply. Engine room tours kicked off today. All who attended this first tour returned encouraging others to sign up for the next one. A few flocks of shearwaters, an albatross eyeballing the bridge and occasional dolphins have provided plenty of opportunities to test new camera equipment in preparation for the first iceberg sighting.

Our Comms Operator Graeme gave a colourful presentation on the Arctic which attracted a lot of interest last night. It included his travels in Greenland, Iceland and Svalboard aboard the Kapitan Shokalski, a Russian ice strengthened tourist vessel. He worked onboard as a zodiac driver and lecturer. The mutual exchange of experience between AAD and tourist operators has proved very valuable over the years.

Highlight of the Day: Fresh fruit buffet at breakfast and sighting of Station leader mopping the D-deck floors

REGARDS: Sharon, Fred and Kerry
