The seas picked up in the early hours of this morning. What was an already quiet ship has become even quieter! At least the calm conditions prevailed for our special occasion last night. Tales of various adventures, Antarctic and elsewhere, were swapped over a few quiet beers. Then the cooks excelled themselves once again with a magnificent chocolate cake for Rob’s birthday. Today there is low-lying fog on the horizon, and while the seas are not too lumpy, there are the occasional big rolls that tested those brave enough to choose the soup for lunch. Clocks will be advanced another hour tonight. After this there are only two more clock changes to bring us in line with Australian Eastern daylight saving time. We really are edging closer to home...
