Comments

Late yesterday we entered the ‘furious fifties’ that are living up to their name. We bounced around a bit in our bunks, and today the seas continue to keep our speed below 10 knots. However, most expeditioners now have their sea-legs, with many occupying the library on board, and several card games happening in the mess. Last night Barbara Wienecke entertained us with photos and stories from her time at Heard Island in 2004. Tonight we have the physics duo – Ray Morris talking about the Auroral lights, no doubt with some spectacular images, followed by Theo Davies informing us about ‘Airglow 2’ – the invisible companion of Aurora… The Social Committee continue to strut their stuff with the Murder game about to commence, and preparations for a quiz night are underway.
