Comments

Yesterday, we used Remora as the scientific working RIB, with the two scientific teams spending approximately ½ a day on the water each due to the choppy swell conditions. A total of 3 satellite tags were deployed and 5 biopsy samples were collected. That brings the total number of satellite tags to 20. We also dropped the krill hoop net and the conductivity, temperature and depth recorder (CTD) over the side. Last night we steamed towards the Bellany Seamount, which is NW of the Bellany Islands to conduct more scientific whale work first thing this morning, but the weather and sea conditions were not suitable. We are now transiting to 67S 152E and then we will head South to the sea ice edge again, so pretty much working to the SE below the Bellany Islands. Regards Hully, Sarah and Nick
