Yesterday afternoon saw all 100 pods and 78 drums of fuel flown ashore at Hurd point by 1645. We then flew 8 empty drums and the 8 support staff back to the ship before darkness descended. Everyone went to bed tired but happy to have had such a successful second days operations. Today the wind has been blowing around 25-35 knots all day with gusts reaching well into the mid forties. Not a great day for flying operations. We will "stooge" up and down the coast off Green Gorge in the hope that conditions improve later in the afternoon, if only to get a crew ashore to survey the landing site. Later in the day we will attempt to fly the Refuelling Supervisor aboard from the station, ready to attempt the refuelling of Macquarie Island tomorrow if conditions allow.
Cheers
