All of the remaining RTA cargo was loaded yesterday morning.
It has been a pleasure to be involved in such an efficient operation. Everyone involved should be proud in achieving all of our objectives so quickly. I would like to thank all involved for making everything work so well.
At the end of cargo loading some expeditioners came aboard the L'Astrolabe to look around the vessel and see all of the cargo loaded. It is the first time that I have seen expeditioners keen to have their photo taken with the cargo.
The crew was given the opportunity to go ashore and they were greeted warmly by all at station. They enjoyed the break before returning to prepare for our departure.
The L'Astrolabe departed Macquarie Island at 5am this morning and we are back to our steady rolling.
