Comments

Finally a calm day. By 10:30 the winds had dropped to the point we could operate inflatable rubber boats (IRBs) to move passengers ashore (they are currently taking a science party to Sandy Bay to sample amongst the kelp beds). We have started moving cage pallets from the "tweens" deck (the uppermost hold). We have another 45 to go before discharging the refrigerated and frozen 20' containers. At this stage everything is being flown ashore by slinging beneath a helicopter . Once the tweens are empty we will consider opening the forward lower hold to access the Apple and water tank huts which will be sent ashore by LARC. At this point we will also be able to accept and stow cargo returning to Australia.

Regards, Andy, Mick and Karen
