The day was spent sailing up and down the east coast of Macquarie Island waiting for weather conditions to improve. An attempt to enter Buckles Bay and anchor was made in the afternoon when it appeared that the weather was abating, however the conditions soon deteriorated. We have been using the time and opportunity to sound the sea floor in the region of Green Gorge where we will try to come close to shore to discharge fuel at some point. Planning cargo operations has been the order of the day for the Chief Mate and Deputy Voyage Leader, whilst the refuelling team has been reviewing the fuel transfer operating procedures.
