The wind has rarely dropped below 30kts today and frequent periods of stronger wind and low visibility within the associated snow showers has forced operations to stop on numerous occasions. despite this the team has managed to bring all of the asbestos aboard by LARC and fly about 330 drums of helicopter fuel and ULP ashore. Between snow storms there have been rare moments when Macquarie Island has been bathed in sunlight, peeking through the clouds. Very beautiful. We are all hoping for better conditions tomorrow.
