Due to forecast winds we left Davis last night and "stooged" up and down till first light. Not wanting to waste time we tested the ice conditions to the north to get a feel for the Polarview data we receive to help us plan the trip through the ice home.

We were at anchor by 08:15 and the first helicopter was over the helideck and the Unifloat alongside at 08:30. A really productive day of operations has followed.

We are now "pulling the pick" and heading for Hobart. We have the full complement of 84 expeditioners, three helicopter, two work boats a LARC and Micks semi infllatable Zebra on board, the front hatch covers don't have a single spare slot or bit of room for any more cargo, and even the trawl deck is loaded to capacity.

All of the passengers and many of the ship’s crew were fortunate enough to get a trip ashore (thanks to Davis for the great hospitality). We're all looking forward to a smooth sail home.

Finally a BIG thank you to everyone who contributed to this smooth and safe resupply at Davis - the Davis winterers and summerers, the many round trip expeditioners, the heli team and particularly, Tim and Brian and their team onboard the Aurora Australis.
