Comments

I was going to try and make today’s report even shorter than yesterdays. But then seven big icebergs appeared, and suddenly it’s like we’re much further south again! The biggest ‘berg is just under 3 km long, and is 21 nm north of our current track, and most of the other bergs are in the 400-800 m size range. These ‘bergs are the remains of a much larger iceberg christened B17B, that broke off from the Ross Ice Shelf several years ago. And in other news, it’s a much nicer day out here, with sun glinting off the ocean, and several accompanying albatross and petrels.

Regards, Doug and Penny
