Comments
Good progress made yesterday. A large flock of accompanying Antarctic Petrels for a while, and a few hundred resting on a berg we passed last night. Five humpback whales barely looked up as we sped past at 15 knots, raising a fluke or two as we passed as if to say “what’s the hurry?”. Lab clean-up time for the marine bios, after all the excitement of the last few weeks. A small diversion north and west this morning as we encountered one last icy tendril of sea ice. Our sidestep has worked, and we’re back on track…
Regards, Doug and Penny
