The last of our 6 clock changes for the return voyage occurred last night and was a relief to all (especially the ship's crew). We are now on Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). Yesterday, the air temperature suddenly soared to a hot +8 deg C, and with the sun shining and little wind, expeditioners were on deck in t-shirts enjoying the chance to be outdoors. A crew member remarked 'you can almost smell the trees...'. Last night we were treated to footage of Phil Law's 1953/54 voyage to Antarctica aboard the Kista Dan and the establishment of Mawson station. This was followed by another viewing of Sprunky's crop circles talk (for the uninitiated crew that joined us since we left Davis). Another beautiful morning so far, although the forecast indicates we may be in for some showers and less comfortable seas later today and tomorrow. ETA remains 0800 Saturday morning at Macquarie 3 berth in Hobart.

Karin, Sharon & Adam
