A very rough night and some spectacular seas today as we encounter a 6 m swell and winds gusting 55 knots. No doubt this will keep a few expeditioners in their bunks. Despite the weather, we continue to make good ground, averaging 16 knots. Yesterday, the Chief Engineer hosted an engine room tour for expeditioners, allowing us to see the 'core' of the ship. This was much appreciated. Otherwise, the usual reading, computer work and card games continue. Weather conditions are expected to ease later today.Meanwhile, it looks like a slow morning ahead with energies focused on staying upright or horizontal, as determined by the quality of one's sea-legs.
