Over the past two days Davis has lived up to its name as the 'Riveria of the South' with blue skies, sunshine and light winds facilitating much progress with resupply operations. Pumping of water was completed yesterday with approximately 200 000 L of water transferred to station. Cargo discharge continued apace and the ship was cleared of ingoing cargo by 1700 hrs. Our round-trip scientists were extremely happy with the aerial survey work they completed yesterday. They now have 1 000 000 000 000 bytes of images captured on their data-drives. The removal of the camera equipment from the helicopter on ship was a slick operation with a turn-around time of approximately 90 minutes. Outgoing expeditioners (Davis and Mawson winterers) came aboard yesterday afternoon. All were inducted by the ship's Master and are settling in for the voyage home. We are continuing to load cargo for return to Australia (RTA) and expect to depart Davis sometime later today.
