Comments

A 'slow' day was had by all yesterday as weather conditions halted operations with winds gusting 55 knots and blowing snow reducing visibility. We continued to monitor the weather conditions every hour in the hope that we might recommence operations in the afternoon. However, this was not to be. The weather constantly reminds us where we are... Vehicle inductions continued on station, while on ship, the opportunity was taken to review the previous day's operations and fine tune our procedures and contingency plans. This morning the snow-groomer has been out early clearing the road and the unloading bay alongside the ship, and an inspection of the fuel line is currently underway. The wind has abated substantially and we are ready to commence operations once more. Thanks must go to our penguin friends who withstood the conditions yesterday and monitored the line in our absence. Regards, Karin, Sharon & Adam
