Not a good start to the day with wind still gusting 35-40 kts but as the wind started to ease the pace started to pick up and cargo ops recommenced with some of the loose cage pallets of RTA just to test the wind and the crane compatibility then discharged the remainder of the cargo bar the fuel. Just after 1030hrs we recommenced refuelling from the 20kl isotainers and completed the refuelling @ 1415hrs just as the wind dropped to near 0 kts and also as we were loading the last of the RTA (Alener sleds). The skipper then decided it was time to get out of the harbour in a hurry and at 1420hrs the first line was cast off and the process of leaving Horseshoe Harbour began and just over an hour later we were out and sailing up and down Kista Strait while we did the last of the cleanup on station and packed away all the refuelling gear. We now have all the returning Mawson expeditioners onboard and are making our way back to the real world having departed Mawson @ 1900 hrs local. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people from the ship, Mawson and our talented team of watercraft operators and refuelling team for the fantastic effort everyone put in over the 5 odd days we were there so well done ladies and gentlemen it was much appreciated. We're on our way home. Cheers, Micky & Deepy
