King Neptune arrived yesterday and anointed the lucky newcomers to his domain, assisted by some very attractive helpers! Light snow fell most of the day and visibility remained poor. In the evening we enjoyed a BBQ on the trawl deck put on by the ships crew as we cruised through light sea ice. A clear sunset was enjoyed by many on the bridge. This morning the weather cleared further to reveal a fantastic blue sky sunny day and the early risers saw a pod of Minke Whales cross our bow. We are now ready to fly off and are moving the last few nautical miles to park in the ice and commence operations. In between helicopter flights we will continue to steam towards Casey.
