Comments

It is a beautiful, calm, sunny day on the Southern Ocean; in fact you have to look out the porthole for any reminder that we’re moving! The highlight for the past 24 hours is without doubt a pod of humpback whales breaching about 200 m off the bow of the ship. One of them breached completely out of the water in what was a pretty spectacular display, or at least so the story goes! It was a first for many people onboard. A close second in the highlight department was the pyrotechnics display by the third mate and cadets to demonstrate the use of rocket and smoke flares in emergency situations. Everyone onboard is well and enjoying the calm seas. Regards Tony and John
