Comments

Our progress towards Davis slowed considerably in the past 24 hours. Yesterday afternoon and this morning we encountered much heavier ice and near-whiteout conditions, and overnight we had to stop the ship because visibility reduced to near zero. We are within flying range of Davis and thankfully the forecast for tomorrow remains promising. The medical team and aircrews are ready for departure as soon as the weather is suitable. Yesterday afternoon we moved a considerable amount of cargo from the lower hold to the ‘tween deck in preparation for flying ops at Davis, and have established a list of priority passengers and cargo to go ashore. We are continuing to push through the ice towards Davis but it is currently slow going. Everyone onboard is well.
