We steamed north yesterday afternoon, stopping briefly to remove 2 blades from the aircraft on deck. Since then we have made very good progress through the ice towards Davis. The ice is 8-9/10 but there is no pressure and plenty of good leads, so we have been able to steam west along 62.5S, rather than having to go further north. Planning meetings for operations over the next few days are ongoing, with all contingencies being explored for getting a medical team to Davis as soon as possible. Everyone onboard is in good spirits and providing all the support possible. Last night we had a very well attended quiz night which raised over $700 for Camp Quality. The Aurora Australis Recreation and Social Committee convened this morning and is working on an entertainment schedule for the coming days.
