We continue to make excellent progress. We completed another 4 CTDs, 1 trace metal rosette deployment, launched an Argo float and conducted further XBT tests. The stations are very closely spaced in this part of the transect to resolve the narrow current jets associated with the Subantarctic Front, so people in the labs are very busy trying to keep up with the pace. We are presently skirting the edge of a massive warm eddy that has moved southward and is now interacting with the front. The birds seem to like it here, with more species and more individuals seen around the ship than earlier in the voyage. Cheers, Steve and Deepy.
