The weather finally caught up to us, with winds peaking at over 60 knots. This caused a 36 hour break in the program, but the conditions are favourable again and we are continuing to make progress along the transect. We completed 3 CTDs and 2 trace metal casts (shallow and deep) this morning. We used the down-time due to weather to complete velocity measurements across the Subantarctic Front using the ship’s acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP), which show that we are in the core of the current now. Cheers, Steve and Deepy.
