Yesterday afternoon saw us continue backloading cargo with one helicopter until the hold began to look full again and the light faded. In between cargo the helicopters worked on tasks down the island to maximise their time. This morning we woke to winds below 30kts for the first time in 7 days and decided that refuelling was on. In a very efficient operation the station team rolled out 800m of floating hose to the ship, which is anchored 300m offshore. 4 zodiacs and the LARC assisted getting the hose out while preparations were made on ship. By 0930 fuel was being pumped ashore while a the process was monitored by people on the water in zodiacs, ashore and on the ship. At midday we are continuing to pump while watching the changeable weather. Field projects continue, including the collection of kelp samples in the waters off the station. We hope to pump fuel for the remainder of the day and then look to continue the backload of cargo or refuelling tomorrow. "Vsekh blag do zavtra" Robb and Andy.
