Another very quiet day on board the good ship Aurora Australis. People are starting to make plans for when we get back. Yesterday afternoon we were followed by a couple of wandering albatross who spent hours gliding at the stern of the ship. The CPR was successfully hauled in and redeployed at 04:00 this morning. This morning our blue skies (we had them for a few hours yesterday) have turned to grey and sleet is bouncing off the portholes. Once we changed our heading yesterday the ship stopped rolling and it is now so calm onboard that it is almost possible to forget that we are on a ship in the Southern Ocean. We have the big V16 engine on today so are making good speed towards home - it’s a very comfortable ride at the moment. Cheers, Nicki, Rob and Peter.
