The weather (winds in excess of 45 knots yesterday) has provided us with an opportunity to move cargo around the decks in anticipation of our return to Mawson. Monday’s good progress meant that we have space to move things around now. Parked out here in the ice we are waiting for the wind speed to drop to a point where the ship can hold position and it is safe to use cranes and watercraft to move cargo. We have shuffled the aviation fuel drums from our trawl deck up on to the helideck and moved some of our RTA cargo to new locations to enable access to the lower cargo hold where most of Mawson’s cargo is located. The movie watchers are now back at it with at least four showings per day in the D Deck theatre, and the rest of our day tends to revolve around meal times. Other than that we are all patiently (or not so patiently) waiting to get back in and get this Mawson resupply finished. Cheers, Nicki, Rob and Peter.
