In transit to the main sampling area for both CEAMARC and the southern CASO sites. Various meetings are happening around the ship to fine tune details of sample collection and processing once the shift work starts. The ship is also being prepared for an early Christmas to be held tomorrow 21 December while we are still in transit. The seminar series started this morning with a brief over-view of the major scientific activities on board from each of the lead scientists, with the intention of stimulating further collaborations among the various research groups. This was followed after lunch by a talk on the structure and evolution of reptile venom. Information on the voyage is now being posted to the internet and is available at the following website address http://mersaustrales.mnhn.fr and then click on the icon "A BORD" (that means 'on board'). Feedback on the web site would be appreciated as we can't see it. Regards, Martin and Sarah.
