The Aurora Departed Davis at 2130 last night after all were invited ashore by Graham Cook and Peter Pedersen to attend the Winterers Changeover ceremony on station. You could swing a cat in the ships mess this morning without hitting anyone as we enjoy a sleep in after 3 days of frenetic resupply and changeover. A remarkable effort by everyone on ship and station to complete all the resupply operations in 3 full days. We are now heading for Mawson, and as I write we are coming to the end of the polyna area off Davis and back into sea ice, and are assessing sat pics for the best route in to a fly off point for helicopters. The forecast suggests a couple of days of good weather followed by a deterioration around the time we expect to be off Mawson ... so we expect to be playing the weather game again soon. Welcome aboard to the Outgoing 2007 Davis Winterers, and all the best to the Davis Winter and Summer crew. All Well Regards, Don and Hully
