Comments

Yesterday's ice station was a great success. We were in an area of high sea ice biomass (which apparently the whales, seals and penguins in the area were also aware of), and obtained excellent under-ice data with the ROV. Two RMTs late last night yielded a good catch of krill and other small beasties. We are now 20 miles north of that location at Ice Station 14, and will stay here overnight tonight. All science parties are out on the ice, at what may be our last ice station, depending on conditions further north. The pack ice in this region is diverging to the north, with some areas already quite broken up. The day is overcast, however we are hopeful of conducting some heli ops this afternoon. Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra.
