We are currently at Ice station 10, and all science parties are busy out on the ice. Helicopter operations have been ongoing throughout the day, with the successful deployment of a second drifting buoy array and several other flights with the laser altimeter and aerial photography. An RMT was conducted in a small lead late last evening, yielding an uncommon catch of three species of krill in the same location. We made good progress overnight and now have the worst of the heavy ice behind us. We are "making hay" today ahead of forecast blizzard conditions late tomorrow and into Tuesday. We expect to remain at this location overnight tonight. Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra.
