An ice reconnaissance flight yesterday afternoon identified a suitable ice floe for our next ice station; however yesterday's strong easterlies today deteriorated into blizzard conditions that have brought a halt to all operations. As I write, conditions are clearing and we hope to be underway again before dinner tonight. Last night we enjoyed our second special occasion of the voyage, with a pirate-themed head shaving night to raise money for Camp Quality. About 15 people onboard are sporting significantly shorter hair styles today, including the loss of numerous beards, mustaches and pony tails. Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra.
