Information
Comments
We steamed west overnight and have been stopped all day for aircraft operations. The ice in this region is heavily deformed and unsuitable for an ice station, however 2 aircraft flights to the SE, North and West have been successful. We have now identified a large floe about 20 miles to our west that we hope to reach by tomorrow morning for an ice station, however blizzard conditions are forecast for tomorrow. Most people have spent today catching up on lab work. Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra.
