We are currently just north of the tip of the Dalton Iceberg Tongue, and have just completed ice station 7. This was a relatively short station on a small floe to collect some cores for the biology groups onboard. We are now in a large lead conducting a SUIT trawl. An ice recce this morning revealed only that most of the sea ice in this region is heavily deformed and difficult to sample. We are struggling to find suitable ice floes for our work, but will continue looking! Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra.
