Comments

We are still at the location of Ice Station 5 in the fast ice; however there has been no work outside for the past 24 hours. The strong easterlies that brought whiteout conditions yesterday, have today strengthened to a blizzard with winds gusting well over 40 knots. Visibility is zero and we will not be leaving this location until conditions ease. Everybody onboard is catching up on their laboratory analysis or getting some rest, hoping for an improvement in conditions soon. Rumour has it that King Neptune is in the area. Regards Tony, Dave and Petra.
