Comments

We are heading SW again after remaining parked overnight. The weather has cleared, although easterly winds are forecast for the next 5 days. A swell penetrated deep into the pack ice this morning, providing enough movement to break the floes up, however we are now encountering difficult ice conditions as we try to get further south. Yesterday's weather provided a good opportunity for people to catch up on their laboratory analysis and get some rest. Last night the D deck lounge was packed to capacity for the world premiere of under-ice footage from the ROV and krill cameras. It was a black tie event and a good number of people turned up in appropriate attire. The footage is excellent and provides a great perspective on the conditions below sea level at each of our ice stations. Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra.
