We were pleased to get away from Macquarie 4 wharf on time at 10:00 yesterday. The scenery along the south coast of Tassie was as spectacular as ever. The seas have not been too rough and most people onboard are travelling well, although we've taken some heavy rolls since lunch time today. We deployed the first ARGO float this morning at 08:46 (local) once we were in water >3000 m deep. We also deployed the Fast Repetition Rate Fluorometer from the trawl deck at 13:00. The Continuous Plankton Recorder was deployed once we were underway from our FRRF station and is now being towed behind the ship. Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra
