Comments

We finished ice station 8 yesterday afternoon then conducted a SUIT and RMT. Both were successful. We then steamed NW through a series of leads before hitting heavily ridged ice at our present location. An ice recce has shown we have approximately 8 miles of heavy going before another series of leads continues to the west. As southerly winds are forecast for the remainder of today and tomorrow we have parked in anticipation of ice conditions easing, rather than continuing to back and ram through the ridges. Aircraft operations will continue this afternoon, to conduct radar and laser altimetry over the ice. Regards, Tony, Dave and Petra.
