Completed Stations 14, 15 and 16 last night. At each station we deployed a CTD cast to 1000m to help determine the optimal location for process station 3. Underway data between the stations help map out the variations in surface properties. A CTD cast at 45 30 S and 153 12 E confirmed we were at the location for process station 3. This morning the P, I, and G drifting traps were deployed, followed by a NIWA cast, a CTD to 400m, the FRRF, Catax, snatchers and ring nets. A second NIWA cast is now in the water. We expect to remain at this location (following the drift of the
traps) for three days. Feels like a spa town with everyone outside enjoying the nice weather and calm seas.
