Continued operations at the first long process station. Finished pumping with the McLean pumps, deployed NIWA rosette to 1000m, and conducted two trawls with the RMT. The terapods recovered are now nestled down with 'boo' in the wet lab. This morning we started a 24 hour study to investigate the diurnal variability in the surface. A CTD is deployed to 30m every 3 hours. During and between these casts, the optical instruments and the snatcher are deployed. This sampling location is paralleling the floating sediment trap in order to repeatedly sample the same water mass. Additional samples were collected during one cast to determine the variability over a few minutes. Regards Vicky & Karin
