Departed Princess wharf 1630 January 17. Women outnumber men expeditioners 32 to 28. Muster on helideck. Remained in sheltered waters and continued to set up and test gear during the night. Test deployment of NIWA rosette, optics gear (FRRF and CAT), SNATCHER and minicosm hose off trawl deck. Tested CTD winch and deployment procedures using wagon wheel. Test station completed at 1230 today. Proceeding towards ARP mooring and Station 1 (now at the same location). ETA ARP mooring 1730 today. Scientists continuing to set up and test gear.
