Sitting tight waiting for an improvement in weather and ice conditions. At Mawson itself winds are around 60 knots and ice there is therefore getting a very solid pounding. Kista Strait and Horseshoe Harbour conditions appear to be heading in the right direction, and with winds potentially being higher still at the station overnight on Tuesday-Wednesday, things can only improve ice-wise. The wind at the ship should be having an affect on the fast ice too but to what extent is not yet clear. All are well and in 'hurry up and wait' mode as we watch nature turn it on for us - and its quite a sight!
