Aircraft attempted ice recce for us yesterday whilst en route to Davis but low cloud prevented observations. Ship arrived outer ice edge 85 nautical miles north-north-west of Casey at midnight local time. Radar showed multiple icebergs to the south and considerable pack ice. Visibility down to 100-200 m in fog today so sitting tight waiting for viewing to improve. Forecast from now until Sunday suggests we may be waiting a while but we shall see. All is well.
