Comments

Slowed down yesterday due to very rough conditions encountered during the afternoon and night causing significant rolling. Conditions have now moderated since encountering first belt of drifting ice at 66 34, 64 43 at 1000 LT. Planning meeting conducted with Master, Chief Officer and Chief Engineer on Mawson operations in the afternoon and several pre-arrival briefing sessions held with passengers. Weather forecast from Davis indicates possible unfavourable wind conditions for approach to the harbour over next two days. We will continue monitor conditions as we proceed and advise accordingly. Presentation last night from Mick Rigby on Naval Hydrography Detachment Survey Unit operations. All passengers continue to travel well.
REGARDS Richard and Jenny
