Comments

Still parked in the same floe as yesterday. Sampling of sea ice algal communities continues. Ice tent set up and all equipment operational. Yesterday successfully tested ice radar with a flight over nearby A4 iceberg, and collected a 5m PICO core. Helicopters today sampling sea ice within 15 nm of ships position. A perfect day yesterday allowed some R&R for all on the ice, with a group of inquisitive emperor penguins providing alternative amusement to the soccer and frisbee. REGARDS Dug
