Vessel halted in deteriorating weather at 1648hrs yesterday. Recon flights not possible and ice pressure due to current winds made further progress difficult and potentially expensive in terms of fuel consumption. Master and VL agreed to remain at this location until winds ease and visibility improves, hopefully by first light tomorrow Wednesday 23 October. All well, Caseyites enjoying an unexpected further day of unrestricted water and excellent Russian hospitality. REGARDS J&L
