Ship arrived at Davis anchorage at 0420, having broken the last 5km of fast ice. Commenced operations at 0800 All cargo ashore by 1100 - thanks to Leanne and her helpers, KK crew and great co-operation from Davis winterers. Transferred helicopters to SL Davis for local operations but unlikely that Zhong Shan SAS work can be undertaken due to poor horizons. All expeditioners should be disembarked by 1300. Will wait until tonight to see if conditions improve for local flying tasks during the afternoon, but will depart first light tomorrow morning regardless. Yesterday: Flew one ice recon. Flew Dr Wang and Mr Xu to Zhong Shan, evacuated Mr Wei to ship. (Ms Millhouse and Dr Mackenzie accompanied Dr Wang to Zhong Shan) Entered fast ice off Davis Station at 1900, proceeded to break fast ice. Flew mail and fresh food to Davis station. REGARDS J&L
