Celebrated all voyagers birthdays last night, so a good time was had by all. Arrival at pack ice at 0935 local time has had a marked effect on most passengers, bringing as it does smooth conditions. Will attempt first voice scheds with Mawson at 1400 local today. Aircraft being prepared for ice recon flight possibly this afternoon. REGARDS J&L
