Passed through an area for several hours where ice bergs, whales and sea-birds had most people with cameras and binoculars bedazzled on a calm sea. Humpback whale sounds recorded. CPR retrieved, water sampling for Indonesian scientists going well, as are preparations for first CTD cast in a few days. Last night's lecture by John Hunter on measurement of tides at Pt Arthur enthralled a full house. ETA within 80 nm of Davis Thursday 7 Feb evening or Friday morning 8th, have requested ice recce.
